Class Announcements ![]() Road to Success! It has been wonderful to see all the speech students and hear all about their summer. So many of your children returned with high accuracy production levels on their targeted sounds and I am thrilled. The carry-over of correct production to the home setting is key to their success. As I reinforce to the students, it is imperative that each child use the proper production throughout the day and especially at home. I would suggest that each parent choose a time during the day to listen for the targeted articulation skills we are addressing here at school. Dinner time is a wonderful time to focus on your child and his/her productions. Set a timer for 5 minutes and let your child tell you about his/her day, utilizing correct productions! By focusing on your child's speech at home, it will reinforce that correct production is not only important in speech class but at home as well. This will lead to improved carry-over of articulation skills in the home setting.
How to Help your Child At HomePlease reinforce your child's correct production of his/her sound at home. Always remember to do this in a positive manner as we want to encourage and support proper sound production.
For those children addressing vocabulary skills, point out things in your environment for which your child may not know it's specific name. Talk about the word and reinforce it later on. |
